SERBIAN SCULPTURES

In order to improve our ability to make plans, sections, elevations and perspectives we tried to sketch up this Serbian sculptures. The result was better than we had expected!

As I have been told since my arrival to IE University:

"The only way to improve is working hard, remaking the sketches and learning from our own mistakes"

MY SELF-PORTRAIT

Even if the woman of the sketch has nothing to do with me, she represents one of my most remarkable aspect: I am HARD WORKING person.

I have tried to sketch my real self-portrait but I think that we are not alike. However, as it is the thought that counts... there you have!

LA TOUR EIFFEL

I am so eager to go to Paris, that I could not resist the temptation to sketch a mini Eiffel Tower. Moreover, I have added some pictures to make the wait shorter.

There you have it!

REFLECTION ABOUT SKETCHING

Today, while I was reading a John Berger's excertp, some words came into my mind. It was nothing less than what the professor told us on our first architectural expression lesson: "A single detail makes the diference." Therefore, we could say that the painter, or in my case the architect, looks inside the object / place / building etc. trying to find what makes it unique and special. In this way, the architect, as the observer, portrays the continually changing universe, transforming it into permanent. According to Berger, this cannot be possible unless there is an active "collaboration" between the model (planet ...) and the artist. Although, we cannot forget that the eye plays an essencial role in painting, the technique is necessary, as well. However, even if the technique is required, by itself only creates lifeless art. Finally, just to emphasize that the artist is the receiver, not the creator.

As Berger sais: "What seems like creation is the act of giving form to what he has received."

MY BELOVED CITY

There is no better way to start a new project than showing where you come from since it represents who you are and what you are like. For this reason, here you have some of the most awesome places of my city: BILBAO.

“The mother art is architecture. Without architecture of our own we have no soul of our own civilization.”
Therefore, architecture must be the perfect bond between functionality and design, in addition to serving as identity.
